Our team rider Devon Lamb was throwing it down on the mini ramp and also fellow Element team rider Collin Provost came out and tore up the street course and the mini ramp. I would like to give a special thanks to Chet Thomas for showing up and skating hard for the first few hours and destroying the place. It’s amazing how good that guy can skate a mini. After smashing my knee about 4 months ago it was my first time on a ramp and I couldn’t think of anybody better to re-enter the world of skating mini ramps again than with Chet Thomas. To bad I could barely land a 50-50 grind because I suck and was being such a pussy. Getting old sucks! We had raffles, great skating, happy parents and stoked kids. Me, Ricky and Mark held it down in the parking lot to make sure it all went smoothly which it did and in addition to the pictures that I took we had Robert Crawford who does some filming for Carlos Ruiz show up and document the event. Our best trick contest started at 3:45 and all the guys from Dwindle had to bounce to the airport so didn’t participate in the contest. Ricky jumped up on the mini ramp and said whoever throws down the best trick in the next 15 minutes gets the money. It ended up going to Chris Cudlipp riding for NSS who landed a Frontside Flip - Disaster - Backside Revert which was the hard way to come back in. Colin Provost got second for a 3 Foot high backside one footed ollie and his 4-5 feet high frontside stalefishes weren't to bad as well. Local boy Ricardo Carvahlo came in third with blunt stall kickflip out and landed clean. After
the contest we raffled off the rest of the stuff and ended the contest.
Then some of the local kids were asking me what that damn bale of hay
was doing sitting there all day long so I busted out my cowboy rope,
stuck the bull horns on it and started roping that little doggy. To
bad I didn’t have a chance to work that into the contest that would
have been kind of funny. Overall a very successful demo and every company
showed lots of love in the way of sending stuff for raffles.
