Supergirl Snowboard Rail Jam In Venice Beach, Ca
The third annual Supergirl Jam wraped up today in Venice Beach, CA. The Supergirl Jam is the biggest all-girls action sports snowboard competition . Over 80,000 pounds of snow was brought in for the top female pros to compete in a rail-jam right near the famous "Muscle Beach."The competition series is designed to "promote and celebrate female strength, independence and empowerment. After a few injuries and a lot of great tricks, Laurie Currier won 1st Place, Nicki Sledka won 2nd Place and Desiree Melancon won 3rd Place. It was a great day to see the ladies come out for a snowboard contest at the beach!

Desiree Melancon was throwing down boardslides like these to get her onto the podium and into third place.

Chanelle Sladics throws down a boardslide and a few other good tricks but it didn't get her into the finals.
Nicki Sledka threw down everything in her bag of tricks which is why she ended up on the podium with a second place finish.
Laurie Currier made every trick look easy which is probably why she won the best trick and the rail jam contest.
The landing turned into a big mud puddle in the first half hour of the contest. These girls didn't mind getting dirty!
Only one girl had to get taken out on a stretcher. Melissa Evans and and Chanelle Sladics where on the scene quickly.
This guy has been complaining about the vendors opposite his location for years. Nobody seems to be listening.
The Venice police department owns a Polaris Ranger. I bet it would be fun to take this thing for a spin on the beach.
