Robb Field Skate Park Ocean Beach California
With 40,000 square feet of concrete, this skate park has something for everyone, regardless of age or skill level, including a “street course” design which features a combination bowl, along with numerous handrails, ledges, blocks, a pump bump and an octagon volcano. One of the most awesome skateboard parks in Southern California, Robb Field is the first skateboard park constructed and operated by the City of San Diego, designed with input from top local skateboarders. The Robb Field Skate Park opened in February 2000.
This is a great skate park and is a must visit although San Diego now has many great skate parks to choose from. This park is an endless array of 4-5 foot banks and bowls with and without metal coping. There are two side by side “runs” separated by a spine that feature multiple hips and bowls. The lines are endless. I sometimes wish there were some bigger sections as all the walls are the same size. There is something here for the beginner, street guy and grind king.
A full concrete surface makes this a fast park with smooth transitions. Parent or legal guardian must accompany children under 14 years-old. Helmets and padding are required. At many public skate parks you can potentially get away without wearing safety gear but at the risk of getting ticketed by the local authorities.
